Do you have any plans for this character in the game? Considering that Yuki's constantly surrounded by idiots and has to babysit them, I'd like for her to both simultaneously have a bit of a break (she probably won't, in the long run) and also potentially meet more likeminded minds! I would also love for her to explore the technology in the game to see just how different or not so different it is from home and worm her way through it.
Character Information
Character's Full Name: Yuki Izumi
Character's Pronouns: she/her
Character's Canon: Heaven Burns Red
Character's Canon Point: After the events of 4.1.
Character's Age: Yuki's age is ambiguous in canon, but she is stated as "underage" in regards to drinking, so she's very likely to be ~17-18 physically/mentally. As for the rest of it, this is
chapter 4.1 spoilers but she is essentially a clone of the real Yuki Izumi, with her memories and all so she's probably physically lived less than that, but the game has not told us how long that explicitly is.Did your character willingly come to Iyashikei? If yes, why? Begrudgingly willingly in the sense that she saw the owl and scroll, did her usual dry quip of "Like I'm going to say 'yes'--" and the scroll accepted it as consent, because unfortunately, Yuki's life tends to live on her
tsukkomi jokes.
Will they need any special accommodations upon arrival? No.
Character's History: Wiki, but it's extremely barebones, so I'll bullet point summarize the important parts; this will contain
full spoilers up to the end of 4.1.
The opening scene has Yuki talking with Ruka, bored out of her mind, where we learn that Yuki was a member of a hacktivist group called "The Orchids" which helped prevent World War III.
Suddenly, everyone is ushered outside because aliens known as the Cancer, attacked. Here, they learn to fight them with their new Seraphim weapons alongside a few others who would soon become Squad 31-A; afterwards, they return to the dorms and introduce themselves to each other.
They live their daily lives taking classes: both general courses and arena training for combat while goofing around during their free days.
Later, they're challenged by 31-C over the title of assault squad, believing that they are the ones who deserve the perks from it more.
Ruka, one day decides that 31-A should form a new "She is Legend", a rock band; Yuki winds up unwittingly becoming both the drummer and band leader in spite of her lack of musical knowledge.
After training, the two groups head out into the front lines. On the helicopter trip there, Yuki and Ruka admit their vulnerabilities and how terrifying the whole situation is. Yuki manages to reassure Ruka, even joking about marriage.
They compete over who can defeat the most Cancer. When a really strong Cancer appears and their seniors nowhere to be found, 31-A steps up to the plate and defeats it while 31-C retreats, only focusing on defeating smaller Cancer to get a lead. It is only when Ruka jumps in to protect a civilian that 31-C realizes that they had forgotten what they were really working for and relents the position to 31-A.
In the following days, the squad teams up with 31-B for a joint operation to reclaim more of Japan that was lost. They train with minimal issues. But during the real mission, they encounter a large Cancer; stronger than previous encounters. They manage to defeat it, thanks to the sacrifice of 31-B's leader, Aoi, who protected them.
31-A is sent on another mission to check on Mt. Fuji, which is surprisingly barren of Cancer without knowing why they are sent there, as it is deemed a military secret. However, 31-A plans on uncovering those secrets, as they are vital to one of the members of their squad who has relations with the military. They decide to find another veteran, and it is here that they properly meet Monaka, who tells them that the one military secret that she's wants answers for is to know why she has seen no dead bodies. 31-A subsequently teams up with her.
They are then issued a recon mission with 30-G. They train, and during the mission proper, they discover a massive Cancer and are forced to retreat; having to prepare for a separate mission to deal with said Cancer.
In hopes of trying to restore one of their squadmate's memories and find answers on the military secrets, they decide that they should investigate Aegis Tower. Ruka states that she is willing to put her life on the line for the sake of a promise, but Yuki disagrees, believing that all lives are important. This causes a rift in their relationship as the rest of 31-A and Monaka plan to sneak into Aegis Tower while Yuki decides to stay out of it.
While the rest of the squad trains for this, Yuki just simply watches from the outside, putting space between her and the rest of the group.
Eventually, Yuki hears Ruka out about why there are things much more important than life itself; Ruka admits that a person's happiness is more vital than their lives, that being an empty husk of a person while 'living' is worse. Yuki accepts this answer, apologizing for being stubborn about her ideals and gives the information that she found about the Aegis Tower and joins them, as she will be needed to even get inside in the first place.
The mission commences and when an opportune time comes, 31-A, Monaka and Kura go sneak into the Aegis Tower; they search for clues and eventually find an item that allows Tsukasa to recall her missing memories.
They run into some trouble, where they wind up having to fight a large Cancer with some struggle. In the end, Monaka, having used her ability to its fullest, goes berserk and winds up killing Kura, where everyone there finds out the reality of their situation: the Seraphim squads are all Narbies - small alien blobs - that have copied the lives of a dead person, and it is when their human form takes too much damage that they revert into their original Narby state.
Afterwards, the group retreats, learning more detailed information about Human Narbies from the commander in private.
The group is then dismissed to think on what to fight for; Yuki eventually finds Ruka in the studio contemplating and the two make an oath to believe in each others' existence as people and have each others' backs.
31-A then prepares for their next mission - as there were actually two of the big Cancers in the area that they need to eliminate.
In preparation, 31-A has to set up devices that will chain the Cancer down, which Yuki helps prepare, coordinating with Higuchi.
The mission commences as they learn that Megumi's psychic abilities have a similar effects as the chains, making her vital to their strategy. The mission initially proceeds smoothly as they fight the Cancer, however, the chains are eventually broken off. Megumi attempts to rechain the Cancer back down, but is too weak to maintain it and put out of commission. However, they use this time given to them re-prepare the chains and 31-A eventually defeats the Cancer.
Even though they've defeated the Cancer, Megumi deems herself inadequate of a squad member and makes the decision to leave 31-A, putting their squad at five members.
Character's Personality: 1. Tell us about who your character is and what someone’s first impression would be upon meeting them. How would your character act once someone got to know them?
Yuki, in general tries to act as the serious, levelheaded, intelligent girl who has herself together. However, the reality of the situation, especially as those get to know her more is that while she is that person a lot of the time, she can get a bit hot-headed when someone does or says something ridiculous--she's prone to shouting out retorts and having to play the tsukkomi (straight man) to a lot of the others' stupid remarks and actions. And while she can act a bit cold and distant on the occasion, she warms up to people that she winds up getting close to and cares about them to the point where she wants to protect them, but at the same time willing to put her trust in them.
2. What is something unique and interesting about them, or what is a fun little tidbit that sets them apart from the crowd?
Yuki, amongst her peers is actually the one with the braincell--she is the one that is able to come up with plans and strategies when the others can't. She is also considered a genius hacker, one of the best.
3. What does your character think their flaws are? What do they think their strengths are? What are their actual flaws and strengths?
Her intelligence is her biggest strength. She says outright that her brain is the most important thing to her, and that she would never want to lose that. She also has full confidence in her hacking and ability with computers.
As for her flaws, she probably would simply say that because she is a hacker and someone who heavily relies on her intelligence, she isn't all that skilled in many things outside of that. And while she may be intelligent, she also makes mistakes from time to time, too; she isn't perfect, after all.
The strengths that she has that she doesn't outright say is that she is rather good at playing along - if you could call her manzai routine as "playing along" - with the antics of her peers.
In terms of flaws that she wouldn't admit to, she's not much of a people person; she isn't often seen hanging around others outside of her squad, a lot of the time she is just tinkering with her mePad, trying to figure out how exactly it works. She also has a tendency to yell a lot and get annoyed over the littlest things (i.e: Ruka's constant usage of the phrase "whoopsie gravy") which shows that has a bit of a trigger finger.
4. What is a common misconception other characters have about your character?
One of the biggest misconceptions that people have about Yuki is how they see her relationship with Ruka. A lot of the gags deal with people seeing the two of them as a dating couple in spite of the fact that they are not, in fact, dating. There are also other times when she is perceived as an idiot due to the people she hangs around and how they behave.
Character Abilities:The outfit that she wears and will be coming with is fitted with something referred to in game as a Deflector. It forms as a physical shield - it looks like a pane of glass - that can sustain damage to a certain extent but once it's completely depleted, it breaks. Given its physical nature, it can also be used as something to step on, like a hoverboard.
With her mePad and using her Seraphim Code, "Hello, World" she can summon her cannon: Rapid Fire.
Other things that her mePad can do is allow her to teleport short distances.
Her cannon, as you can guess, can shoot rather powerful lasers.
She also has a self buff skill that can increase her next skill attack up to 90%.
She is also a genius hacker and is rather well versed in technology in general. She has the ability to create her own AI (she has one in her mePad, unfortunately named ASS) and learns pretty quickly when it comes to tech. She is also able to utilize tiny drones to help survey small areas, too.
Thanks to her military training, she also knows how to sew a little bit, mostly to be able to make repairs on her outfit, not anything more complex than that.Player Opt-out/Opt-in Permissions post: Here.TDM Sample Link: TDM threadAny comments or questions you would like us to know?
